Does this course come with a Certification?

Yes! Successful completion of the course earns a CTS certification from the International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaches. This trauma-informed certification helps prepare students to view their professional and personal lives through a trauma lens. This is beneficial whether it's for your own personal understanding interacting with friends and family, or in a professional public-facing environment that deals with the public. Either way, the increased awareness and understanding can help increase compassion and diminish or eliminate conflict.

The investment for this course is $2,100. An initial deposit of 25% is required upon registration. Payment plans are available 2 payments of $788 or 4 payments of $394.

How do I become a Trauma Recovery Coach?

Successful completion of Certified Trauma Specialist is the first step to becoming a Trauma Recovery Coach. After completion, you will be given the option to continue in the program if you choose and pursue the Certified Trauma Recovery Coach certification through the IAOTRC. Certified Trauma Recovery Coaches work with trauma survivors as peers, mentors, guides, and educators with the goal of helping their clients understand the recovery process, and reconnect with themselves and the world while using their strengths to build a life they love living.

What are the certification requirements?

Taken directly from IAOTRC website:

"Each course has required reading and homework. The Association requires specific homework assignments and that you read both Bessel Van der Kolk’s The Body Keeps the Score and Pete Walker’s Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving. Your individual instructor may have additional homework and reading requirements. Those should be specified on their individual websites.

After you have completed the course, your instructor will let the Association know that you have completed all your homework to a satisfactory level and paid your tuition in full. Then you will take an examination through the Association, which you must pass with a score of at least 80%.

After you meet those three requirements you will be credentialed as a Certified Trauma Specialist. Your credential will come from The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching, not the individual instructor.

Once you are credentialed you will be listed in our new directory of Certified Trauma Specialists.

Your credential will be good for two years. If you wish to renew your credential you must obtain 15 hours of Continuing Education credits, complete a Code of Ethics Review and pay a certification renewal fee of $50."
